What exactly is a self-driving car? In simple terms, it is a vehicle that does not need driver intervention but rather relies on a collection of cameras and sensors to navigate.

Some cars require driver assistance while others can operate autonomously. While the research and full implementation of self-driving technology is still ongoing, manufacturers are rolling out many prototypes even going so far as to integrate the technology into existing models.
