Self driving trucks being tested Tucson closer to hitting the road

You’ve heard of self driving cars, now robotic semis could soon be coming to a highway near you and they’re currently being tested right here in Tucson.

Technology engineers believe Robots are the truck drivers of the future.

The technology created by a company called “Tu-Simple” relies on a minimum of 9 cameras, 5 radars, and 2 laser radars to read the road.

Currently the autonomous trucking industry has no federal regulations, it’s a state issue.

The company says it’s making roads a lot safer for everyone because autonomous trucks do not text, do not fall asleep, nor do they become distracted.

Tu simple says they are already operating 5 autonomous trucks.

What do you think?
