The Karlsruhe based company atlatec has developed a portable mobile mapping system. The system can be used to accurately survey road geometries and infrastructure. Atlatec and IPG have now extended this system to include the capability to export data in the Road5 format. This allows atlatec to offer the creation of Road 5 models from real roads. These can then be used for simulations in CarMaker. The ADAS development with CarMaker particularly benefits from real road environments.
