Veoneer monitors the trends in the automotive industry closely – and being at the forefront of safety electronics, we are also driving several trends in automotive. The industry developments during the last few months shows that the automotive industry is converging around collaborative driving ahead of full autonomy. Veoneer’s focus has always been on Collaborative Driving, as we strongly believe that increased automotive safety is built upon the interaction between humans and vehicles, strengthened by increasing levels of automation and driver support.
Innovation and differentiation will happen on top of common platforms as scalable solutions and upgradability is becoming the norm. In-cabin sensing and cloud-based data are the next areas to go mainstream. We keep trying to influence improved safety by technologies like in-cabin sensing and exterior like thermal sensing. The industry value chain is also in rapid change, which customers have started to accept.
