(video) Autonomous shuttle demonstration (2004) in Delft, the Netherlands

In 2004 one of the very first demonstrations with autonomous shuttles was done in the historical city of Delft, the Netherlands. Which explains why the video is grainy.

It was organized by the Techinical Univerisity in Delft to interest new students in pursuing a technical career and providing insight in what kind of products and projects you could end up working on.

Granted, the system had a safety steward on-board, but the emergency stop didn’t need to be used at all. As such it turns out 2getthere and the demonstration were well ahead of their time, as these types of demonstrations are common today!
